RAW PAPAYA DAL FRY

INGREDIENTS:
RAW PAPPAYA DAL CURRY
RAW PAPAYA DAL CURRY

Raw papaya cut and chopped-----1 no
Toor dal(tuvara parippu)-----------1 cup
Red chilli powder-------------------1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder--------------------1 tsp
Coconut (grated)--------------------1 cup
Cumin seeds(jeerakam)------------1/2 tsp
Garlic---------------------------------2-3 nos
Oil ----------------------------------as required
Curry leaves or coriander leaves--1 sprig
mustard seeds-------------------------2 tsp
chopped shallots(small onion)------3-4 nos
Salt--------------------------------------to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  1. Pressure cook the dal and raw papaya together by adding salt and turmeric and chilli powder in it and keep it aside.
  2. Now grind the grated coconut, cumin seeds and garlic together.
  3. Add these grinded paste into the cooked papaya dal and mix well and keep it on a low flame.
  4. Mean while take a pan add oil in it and splutter mustard seeds and add chopped shallots and curry leaves in it and saute it until golden brown.
  5. If you are using coriander leaves make sure to add it in the end when the curry is to be served.
  6. Now mix these seasoning on to the papaya dal curry and mix well.
  7. You can have it with rice or chapati.
  8. Its very tasty and food vanishes very soon and kids will love it.
